Heating - Cooling Equipment

Heating Equipment – Which Type of Heater Should You Choose?

Choosing the right heater allows you to quickly and efficiently heat a garage, workshop, warehouse, construction site or other working area. When selecting heating equipment, consider not only its heating capacity but also the size of the space, ventilation, operating time and available energy sources.

At Irankistai.lt you can find electric, gas, diesel and Webasto-type diesel heaters designed for different working conditions.

Electric heaters – a simple solution for indoor spaces

An electric heater is a practical choice for garages, workshops, smaller warehouses and other spaces with a suitable electrical supply.

One of the main advantages of electric heaters is their simplicity. There is no need to store fuel or gas cylinders, and no combustion gases are produced inside the heated space. This makes electric heaters particularly suitable for enclosed areas.

Choose an electric heater when:

  • heating an enclosed space;

  • a suitable electrical supply is available;

  • simple operation is important;

  • you do not want to store fuel or gas cylinders;

  • heating without combustion gases inside the room is required.

When choosing a more powerful electric heater, check whether the unit requires a 230 V or 400 V power supply.

Gas heaters – high heating capacity and mobility

Gas heaters are suitable for construction sites, workshops, warehouses, hangars and other well-ventilated working areas. Their high heating capacity makes it possible to increase the temperature of a large space quickly.

A suitable gas cylinder, regulator and adequate ventilation are required.

Choose a gas heater when:

  • high heating capacity is required;

  • mobility is important;

  • sufficient electrical power is not available;

  • heating construction, industrial or well-ventilated areas;

  • rapid heating is required.

Because combustion consumes oxygen and produces combustion gases, adequate ventilation and all safety requirements specified by the heater manufacturer must be observed.

Diesel heaters – powerful heating for larger spaces

Diesel heaters are commonly used when high heating capacity and independent operation are required on construction sites and in hangars, warehouses, workshops and other larger working areas.

They are particularly useful in locations where a high-power electrical heater cannot be used.

Choose a diesel heater when:

  • heating a larger space;

  • high heating capacity is required;

  • the heater will be used on construction sites, in workshops or warehouses;

  • mobility and independence from a high-power electrical supply are important;

  • the heater will be used regularly or for longer periods.

When using direct-fired diesel heaters, always consider ventilation and the operating conditions specified by the manufacturer. For enclosed or regularly occupied spaces, heaters with separate exhaust of combustion gases may be a more appropriate solution.

Webasto-type diesel heaters

Compact diesel air heaters are a practical solution for smaller spaces, vehicles, camper vans, workshops and other applications where continuous and efficient heating is required.

Unlike conventional direct-fired construction heaters, these units use a separate combustion chamber. When correctly installed, exhaust gases are discharged outside while heated air is supplied to the required space.

How much heating capacity do you need?

Floor area alone does not determine the required heater capacity. Heating demand depends on:

  • total room volume;

  • ceiling height;

  • thermal insulation;

  • difference between outdoor and desired indoor temperature;

  • doors, gates and windows;

  • ventilation and draughts.

A well-insulated workshop and an uninsulated hangar of the same floor area can require significantly different heating capacities. For larger spaces, consider not only the floor area in m² but also the total volume in m³ and expected heat loss.

Electric, gas or diesel – which heater should you choose?

Electric heater – ideal when simple operation and clean indoor heating are the priorities.

Gas heater – suitable when powerful, mobile heating is required in a well-ventilated working area.

Diesel heater – designed for applications where high heating capacity, mobility and independent operation are required.

Webasto-type diesel heater – a compact solution for maintaining heat in smaller spaces over longer periods.

Before choosing your heating equipment, consider the size and insulation of the space, available electrical supply, ventilation and how frequently the heater will be used. Properly selected heating equipment will help achieve the required temperature faster and use energy more efficiently.
