ELLIENT TOOLS petrol engine compression test kit (AT1389)

AT1389 is intended for checking petrol engine cylinder compression.

The test compares cylinders' ability to build pressure while the engine is cranked. Match the connection type and gauge range to the specific engine. Key details: Gauge scales: 0–25 bar; 0–350 psi; Adapters: M14×1.25; M10×1; M12×1.25; extended M14.

Selecting the connection

Select a threaded adapter for the spark plug port thread and length. Use a push-in attachment only where it can be properly seated according to the tool instructions.

Consistent test conditions

Follow the vehicle repair procedure and correctly disable fuel delivery and ignition. Check cylinders under consistent engine and battery conditions.

Comparing compression

Record each cylinder and compare against the engine specifications. A low reading calls for further diagnosis rather than automatically identifying a failed component.
